Where We Live - POOLE

Here are some pictures of Poole just to prove that "it’s a beautiful place!" as the Tourist Board claim.

Poole is location in the county of Dorset on the South Coast of the United Kingdom. It is not a large town although it is part of an urban conurbation incorporating Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole. It is an ancient town being established at least since Saxon times and also has Roman connections. It boasts 7 miles of golden sand and a huge natural harbour.

The harbour is home to a wide variety of water sports including: sailing; windsurfing; jet skiing; water skiing; and fishing. Fishing was major industry in times gone by along with it being an important port. Now service industries and light engineering companies, along with tourism are its largest employers. However, there is still a thriving port and the quay bustles with people visiting the many pubs and restaurants along with the famous Poole Pottery.
